In the world of A Clockwork Orange, everything is violent, from gangs, to youth, to the government who tries to restore order. Not only did the book inspire a movie of the same name, but it also spawned a whole new language, among them droogs and ultraviolence, as it explored a new world with a depressing future, all the while exploring what it really means to be free. And just as the book inspired Stanley Kubrick to create the movie, so did it and the movie inspire a new generation of filmmakers to create their own views of a terrifying future.
