Feed is a dystopian novel for young adults and has only become more prescient since it was first published before the rise to world domination by Twitter and Facebook and smartphone apps tracking the purchasing decisions of everyone. The novel originally read like some sort of cautionary tale about a distant future. Today, its story of computer chips implanted into human brains connected around the clock to an internet-like network run by a Scooby-Doo level evil conglomerate is almost starting to read like non-fiction.
